After watching my sisters-in-law knit at family gatherings, one sister-in-law showed me how to knit. I discovered what I really loved was local, natural, fine yarns.  But collecting yarn and knitting are two hobbies and eventually I really needed to focus more on creating knit pieces and using up my yarn stash.

My knitting has changed some since joining the Schoharie Mercantile to reflect local needs.  In addition to shawls, hats and cotton cloths, you will also find newborn baby sweaters and hats for gifting.

Please let me know if you would like something hand knit that you are not seeing currently in the Schoharie Mercantile as I am happy to accommodate!
